Federal University Lokoja Introduces Mandatory Vehicle Security Checks
The management of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), through the Office of the Registrar, has announced the immediate implementation of stricter security measures at all university gates as part of efforts to enhance safety and protect lives and property within the institution.
According to a circular dated May 26, 2026, all vehicles entering and exiting the university premises will now undergo routine security inspections. The directive specifically states that every vehicle owner or occupant must open their vehicle booths for checks by security personnel.
The university also directed that drivers and passengers must present valid means of identification upon request and cooperate fully with security officers during inspections. Members of the university community were advised to avoid any form of obstruction or altercation with security personnel while carrying out their duties.
The circular further warned that failure to comply with the new directives could result in denial of entry or exit from the university premises and may also attract disciplinary actions.
The Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dr. Rebecca Aimiohu Okojie, emphasized that the cooperation of staff, students, and visitors is necessary to maintain a safe and secure environment for teaching, learning, and research activities within the institution.
The circular was copied to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, and the Chief Security Officer for necessary action and compliance.
