UNILORIN Debunks Rumour of MBBS Admission Suspension for 2026/2027
The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has dismissed rumours circulating since yesterday claiming that the institution will not admit candidates into its MBBS programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a statement issued on behalf of the Management, the Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, described the claim as false, stressing that the University has already advertised the MBBS programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
He further noted that registration for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening exercise, which includes the MBBS programme, is currently ongoing.
"The information is not true. We have advertised the MBBS programme for the 2026/2027 academic session and the registration for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening exercise is ongoing," the statement read.
The clarification comes amid widespread speculation on social media suggesting that the University would not admit students into its MBBS programme for the upcoming academic session. The University's Management has now urged the public to disregard the rumour.
