JAMB Debunks Fake Highest 2026 UTME Score

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed a 2026 UTME result slip currently circulating on social media, which falsely claims that a candidate scored 396 in the examination.

According to the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, the result slip is completely fake and did not originate from JAMB’s official database or result-checking platform. He made it clear that the document is misleading and urged members of the public to stop sharing it. Benjamin explained that JAMB has already made it clear that all 2026 UTME results are currently available only in a view-only format. This means candidates can only check their results through SMS, and no printable result slip like the one being circulated has been issued by the Board.

He further noted that the format of the fake document is one of the biggest red flags. According to him, the template being shared online does not match JAMB’s official result layout, making it easy to identify as fake when carefully examined.

He also addressed the registration number shown on the circulated slip, explaining that JAMB registration numbers are automatically generated by its system and follow a specific structure. He pointed out that the “20269” pattern seen on the fake document is not consistent with how the Board generates candidate registration numbers, further exposing it as fraudulent.

Beyond these issues, Benjamin added that there are several other visible inconsistencies on the document, all of which confirm that it did not originate from JAMB’s official result portal. He stressed that the combination of these errors clearly shows that the result slip is fabricated.

The Board therefore advised candidates, parents, and the general public to rely strictly on official JAMB communication channels for accurate updates regarding the 2026 UTME results.
