UISEC Releases Official Voting Guidelines for 2025/2026 Students' Union Election
The University of Ilorin Independent Students' Electoral Commission (UISEC) has released the official voting procedures for the 2025/2026 Students' Union Election scheduled to hold tomorrow.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the Commission stated that the guidelines are aimed at ensuring a smooth, transparent, and efficient voting process for all eligible students.
According to the Commission, students are expected to log in to the University of Ilorin portal using their matriculation number and password via the university's official portal. After logging in, voters are to navigate to the "Election" section located at the bottom of the navigation bar.
UISEC explained that students should locate the "Students' Union Election" tab, which will display a countdown timer indicating the official voting period from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Once voting commences, the "Vote" button will become active, allowing students to proceed with casting their votes.
The Commission further noted that voters will only be presented with positions and candidates they are eligible to vote for based on their faculty and hostel affiliations. Students are advised to carefully select their preferred candidates and verify all selections before proceeding to submit their ballots.
To complete the voting process, students must scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Vote/Submit" button. UISEC emphasized that votes will only be recorded after the final submission button has been clicked.
The Commission also reminded students to keep their login details confidential, ensure stable internet connectivity throughout the voting process, vote only within the stipulated hours, and maintain sufficient device power while participating in the election.
UISEC urged all eligible students to actively participate in the democratic process and contribute to the emergence of leaders for the Students' Union.
