LASU Approves 2026/2027 Academic Session Calendar

Lagos State University (LASU) has approved the academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic session, outlining the schedule for academic activities across the first and second semesters.

The calendar was approved by the University Senate on behalf of the institution, under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi BADEJO, FCASSON, FAPROCON, MNAE.

According to the approved calendar, the academic session will cover activities including student resumption, registration, orientation, lectures, examinations, result processing, and Senate consideration of results.

First Semester

The first semester will commence with the resumption, registration, and orientation of new students, scheduled for Friday, October 2 to Friday, October 23, 2026.

Lectures for both returning and new students will begin on Monday, October 26, 2026, and run until Friday, January 15, 2027. The period includes the Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year holidays.

Late registration will take place from Monday, January 11 to Friday, January 15, 2027, with a ₦10,000 penalty fee applicable.

This will be followed by a one-week revision period from January 18 to January 22, 2027, ahead of the first semester examinations, scheduled for January 25 to February 12, 2027.

Grading and uploading of results will take place from February 15 to February 26, 2027, followed by departmental and faculty consideration, correction uploads, and ICT processing from March 1 to March 5.

The Senate meeting for consideration of results is scheduled for March 8 to March 12, 2027, after which students will proceed on the end-of-semester break from March 15 to March 19, 2027.

Second Semester

The second semester is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 22, 2027, with registration and lectures for students from 100 Level to 500 Level continuing until Friday, May 28, 2027.

A one-week revision period will follow from May 31 to June 4, 2027, while the second semester examinations are scheduled for June 7 to June 25, 2027.

The grading and uploading of results will take place from June 28 to July 9, 2027.

Departmental and faculty consideration of results, correction uploads, and ICT processing are scheduled for July 12 to July 16, 2027, followed by the Senate meeting for consideration of results from July 19 to July 23, 2027.

The academic session will conclude with the end-of-semester break, scheduled for July 26 to July 30, 2027.

The approved calendar provides students and members of the University community with a framework for planning academic activities throughout the 2026/2027 session.
