JAMB Fixes June 13 for 2026 UTME Mop-Up Examination

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced Saturday, June 13, 2026, as the date for the conduct of the 2026 UTME mop-up examination.

According to the Board, the mop-up examination is specifically for candidates who presented themselves and were successfully biometrically verified during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) but could not sit for the examination due to one challenge or another.

JAMB disclosed that the 2026 UTME was conducted between April 23 and April 29, 2026. However, the Board noted that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres experienced technical issues which prevented several candidates from taking the examination.

The Board further explained that some results were withdrawn due to examination infractions, while some candidates who appeared for the examination could not be biometrically verified. It added that all affected candidates have now been scheduled for the mop-up exercise.

JAMB described the mop-up examination as the final phase of the annual UTME exercise aimed at resolving all pending examination issues involving candidates who genuinely presented themselves for the examination but encountered difficulties.

Affected candidates have been advised to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026.

The Board also urged candidates to carefully check and familiarise themselves with their examination centres ahead of the examination date, stressing that there will be no further opportunity to sit for the 2026 UTME after the mop-up exercise.

The statement was signed by Fabian Benjamin, Ph.D., OrgExpert, Public Communication Advisor (PCA), JAMB.
