UNILORIN Confirms Allocation of Lagos Female Hostel for 2026/2027 Session
The University of Ilorin has confirmed that the newly completed Lagos Female Hostel will be available for student allocation in the 2026/2027 academic session.
The Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Alex Akanmu, made the announcement during an inspection of the facility alongside members of the university community, including the outgoing and incoming Presidents of the Students' Union. Following the inspection, he expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness, stating that the hostel is ready to receive occupants.
Speaking during the visit, the outgoing Students' Union President, Adelu Idris, praised the university management for delivering the project as promised. He described the completion of the hostel as a major achievement, noting that it provides a modern and conducive accommodation option for female students.
Also speaking, the incoming Students' Union President, Mozeed, said the facility would help address accommodation challenges by providing additional on-campus housing for female students.
The Lagos Female Hostel is designed to accommodate more than 1,000 female students.
