UNILORIN Schedules Special Senate Meeting for Late Vice Chancellor
The management of the University of Ilorin has concluded arrangements to hold a special Senate gathering in memory of its former Vice Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, OON.
The event forms part of the activities organised by the institution to pay tribute to the late academic, whose tenure left a significant mark on the University community.
Honorable Updates learnt that the gathering will take place on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the University Auditorium, where members of the Senate and other stakeholders of the institution are expected to assemble to reflect on the life and legacy of the former University administrator.
The session is anticipated to attract principal officers, past leaders of the institution, members of the academic community, as well as relatives and associates of the deceased.
Following the Senate proceedings, a prayer programme will be held at the University's Central Mosque for the repose of Prof. Ambali's soul. The prayer is expected to be led by the Chief Imam of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Nasir AbdusSalam.
