MOUAU To Begins Refund of NELFUND School Fees to Eligible Students

The Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Prof. Ursula Ngozi Akanwa, has directed the immediate refund of school fees to students who paid their fees before later benefiting from the Federal Government's Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

The directive was announced during the inauguration and swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Students' Union Government (SUG). According to the Vice-Chancellor, the university's Bursar has been instructed to begin processing refunds for all eligible students.

Prof. Akanwa explained that the refund is to ensure that students who paid their school fees before receiving the NELFUND loan are not deprived of the benefits of the Federal Government's education financing initiative.

She also advised students to complete their course registration early upon resumption for the 2026/2027 academic session, noting that timely registration would enable the university to commence academic activities as scheduled.

The Vice-Chancellor further urged the newly inaugurated SUG executives to provide responsible, inclusive, and purposeful leadership while working closely with the university management to promote peace, improve student welfare, and maintain a conducive learning environment.
