University of Ibadan Announces Lecture-Free Day, Half-Day Lectures

The management of the University of Ibadan (UI) has approved a lecture-free day and a half-day of lectures as part of activities for the UI Students’ Union Week.

According to a memorandum issued by the Office of the Dean of Students on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, Thursday, September 17 has been declared a lecture-free day, while Friday, September 18 will be a half-day of lectures.

The Dean of Students, Professor Demola Lewis, directed the Deans of Faculties to communicate the development to Heads of Departments for implementation.

The arrangement is aimed at allowing students to participate in the activities lined up for the Students’ Union Week.

Students are therefore advised to take note of the approved schedule and plan accordingly.
