MAPOLY Expels 365 HND Students Over Fake Academic Credentials
The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State, has announced the immediate expulsion of 365 students for allegedly utilizing falsified academic records to secure admission into various Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.
According to an official statement released by the institution's management, the disciplinary action followed an extensive and rigorous verification exercise of the credentials submitted by the affected students during their admission and registration processes.
The institutional breakdown of the expelled students across various faculties is detailed below:
School of Communication and Information Technology: 156 students
School of Business and Management Studies: 117 students
School of Science and Technology: 54 students
School of Engineering: 36 students
School of Environmental Studies: 2 students
The administration described the mass expulsion as a critical measure taken to protect the academic integrity, credibility, and transparency of the institution’s grading and admissions system.
In a joint brief issued by the MAPOLY Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Yemi Ajibola, the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Koye Jolaoso, strongly warned prospective applicants against presenting fraudulent credentials. He reiterated that the institution remains strictly committed to maintaining high academic standards and will continue to enforce zero tolerance for academic dishonesty.
