UNILORIN Clarifies Admission Process, Warns Candidates Against Scams
The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has warned candidates seeking admission into the institution, as well as their parents, guardians and other stakeholders, to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
The warning was issued by the University’s Admission Officer, Mr Abdulkareem Kunle Sanni, a Principal Assistant Registrar, during his appearance on “Table Talk”, a current affairs programme on UNILORIN 89.3 FM.
Sanni explained that the University’s admission process is highly organised and automated, stressing that no candidate would be asked to pay money before being offered admission into any programme.
According to him, admission would be offered strictly to qualified candidates based on the aggregate of their Ordinary Level, UTME and Post-UTME performances.
He also urged candidates, parents and other stakeholders to disregard unauthorised information concerning admission, noting that only information published on the University’s official website and recognised communication channels should be relied upon.
The Admission Officer further encouraged candidates who are uncertain about any admission-related information to contact the Admissions Office for clarification.
He disclosed that the Admissions Office remains open for physical enquiries and interactions with admission seekers from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on working days.
