KWASU Declares Seven Days of Mourning for Late Pro-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali
The management of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has declared a seven-day mourning period in honour of its late Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali, OON.
According to a statement issued by the Registrar of the institution, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee, the Vice-Chancellor directed the entire university community to observe the mourning period from Monday, June 8 to Sunday, June 14, 2026.
The university described the late Professor Ambali as a distinguished leader whose contributions to the growth and development of KWASU will remain unforgettable.
The statement also prayed for the repose of his soul, asking Allah to grant him eternal rest and give the KWASU community, his immediate and extended families, as well as friends, the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali served as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of Kwara State University until his passing.
