UNILORIN SU Elections: UISEC Lifts Campaign Ban, Orders Aspirants to Submit Credentials

The University of Ilorin Independent Students' Electoral Commission (UISEC) has officially lifted the campaign ban for aspirants contesting in the forthcoming Students’ Union Elections for the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to a press release issued by the commission on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, all aspirants are now permitted to commence legitimate campaign activities with immediate effect, provided such activities are conducted in line with the electoral guidelines and university regulations.

The commission emphasized that all campaigns must be peaceful, orderly, and in strict compliance with the rules guiding the electoral process.

In a related development, UISEC also announced the list of documents and personal data required from aspirants during the submission of nomination forms for the upcoming general election.

The commission stated that candidates are expected to submit the following documents:

1. *Candidate Electoral Form*
2. *Photocopy of Candidate Electoral Form*
3. *Letter of recommendation duly signed by you and your L.A. or any available lecturer in your department.*
4. *Photocopy of Id card*
5. *School fees receipts*
6. *Original Payment receipt*
7. *Course form for all academic sessions*
8. *Spreadsheet or results for all academic sessions*
9. *2 Passports*
10. *Personal details printed from your portal*
11. *A coloured copy of your banner on A4 paper*
12. *Copy of Resignation signed and stamped if holding an office*
UISEC further directed all aspirants to report to the commission’s secretariat, located at the first block of the Students’ Affairs Unit, not later than 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, for the submission and processing of nomination documents.
