UNIOSUN Records 100% Accreditation Success Across Programmes.

Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has recorded a major academic breakthrough after securing full accreditation for 29 academic programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC), further reinforcing the institution’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s rapidly advancing state universities.

The development was officially disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Osogbo by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ademola Adesoji, who described the achievement as another landmark success in the institution’s pursuit of academic excellence and global relevance.

According to the statement, all the academic programmes presented by the university during the NUC accreditation exercise conducted in October and November 2025 successfully earned full accreditation status.

Team Honorable Updates gathered that the approval was formally communicated to the university through a letter signed by the Director of Accreditation at the National Universities Commission, Abraham Chundusu, following a comprehensive assessment carried out across several departments and faculties within the institution.

The accredited programmes cut across major academic fields, including Administration and Management, Allied Health Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Computing, Education, Sciences, and Social Sciences.

Speaking on the development, Adesoji explained that the outcome of the accreditation exercise demonstrates the university’s continuous effort toward providing a conducive academic environment supported by modern learning facilities, qualified academic personnel, research advancement, and stable institutional management.

He noted that the accreditation success not only validates the quality of teaching and learning at the institution but also strengthens the confidence of students, parents, and stakeholders in the university’s academic system.

Reacting to the achievement, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Odunayo Adebooye, expressed satisfaction with the accreditation results, stating that the institution remains committed to sustaining academic excellence and recording greater achievements in the years ahead.

According to him, the 100 percent success recorded during the accreditation exercise was not accidental but the result of deliberate planning, consistency, and the collective dedication of members of the university community.

He described the achievement as another significant milestone in the university’s journey toward becoming a globally competitive institution known for excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and character development.

The Vice-Chancellor further appreciated members of staff, students, alumni, the Governing Council, and other stakeholders whose contributions and commitment contributed immensely to the successful outcome of the exercise.

He also acknowledged the support of the Osun State Government, noting that the administration’s continued investment in the education sector has played a crucial role in strengthening the university’s infrastructure, academic growth, and institutional stability.
