UNILAG Secures Full Accreditation for 11 Academic Programmes
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has recorded a 100% success rate in the 2025 accreditation exercise, with all eleven academic programmes presented to the National Universities Commission (NUC) and relevant professional bodies receiving full accreditation.
According to the university, the achievement reaffirms UNILAG's commitment to maintaining high academic standards and delivering quality education, research, and professional training. The accreditation also assures students, parents, employers, and other stakeholders of the quality and global relevance of the institution's academic programmes.
The fully accredited programmes are Accounting, Taxation, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiography, German, Linguistics, Home Economics, Library and Information Science, Special Needs Education, Petroleum and Gas Engineering, and Economics and Development Studies.
The accreditation is valid for five years, with all programmes maintaining their accredited status until 2030.
UNILAG noted that accreditation serves as a key measure of academic quality by assessing curriculum relevance, teaching capacity, learning resources, governance, and overall institutional effectiveness. The university added that the successful outcome reflects the dedication of its academic and administrative staff in sustaining a culture of excellence.
The institution reaffirmed its commitment to advancing teaching, research, innovation, and community impact while continuing to produce graduates equipped to excel in a rapidly evolving global environment.
