Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has officially released its approved cut-off marks for admission into various undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session, with Nursing Science and Law recording the highest entry thresholds.
The disclosure was made in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Universityโs Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ademola Adesoji.
According to the official document published by the institution, candidate selection is divided into General Merit and Catchment categories. Under the General Merit category, Nursing Science recorded the highest requirement at 77.4, while its catchment benchmark was set at 74.4.
The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme follows closely with a general cut-off mark of 77.1 and a catchment score of 73.0. Other medical and health sciences programmes also recorded elevated thresholds, including Radiography and Radiation Science at 74.5 general and 70.9 catchment, as well as Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS) at 73.8 general and 70.0 catchment.
For other competitive courses, Common and Islamic Law was fixed at 71.3, Accounting at 69.0, and Mass Communication at 68.7. In the engineering and computing faculties, Mechatronics Engineering requires a score of 66.8, Software Engineering 66.1, Computer Science 65.6, Civil Engineering 64.0, and Mechanical Engineering 63.8.
Conversely, programmes on the lower end of the published thresholds include B.Sc. (Ed) Mathematics with a general score of 43.0 and a catchment mark of 40.0, Christian Religious Studies at 47.1 general and 40.0 catchment, and Wildlife Management at 49.8 general and 40.0 catchment.
The management stressed that admissions into the university remain strictly based on merit and compliance with the admission requirements established by the institution and relevant regulatory bodies.
The university further issued a stern caution to prospective candidates and the general public regarding scammers and fraudulent individuals seeking to exploit the admission exercise for financial gain.
The statement warned candidates to avoid individuals or online platforms claiming to offer special admission slots, preferential consideration, or influence over the universityโs selection process.
UNIOSUN urged applicants to verify all information through its official website and authenticated communication platforms, clarifying that it will accept no liability for misinformation or financial losses incurred from relying on unauthorized sources or social media broadcasts.
The management concluded by extending its congratulations to all prospective candidates and wishing them success in the ongoing admission process.
