UNILAG Issues Warning Over Misuse of Anonymous Messaging Apps

The University of Lagos (UNILAG), through the Division of Student Affairs (DSA), has cautioned students against the misuse of anonymous messaging applications such as NGL, Tellonym, and similar platforms.

According to the notice, the University has observed that some students are using these applications to harass, bully, spread false information, and direct insulting messages at others. The institution described the trend as disturbing and inconsistent with the values expected of students.

The DSA reminded students that a University of Lagos degree represents not only academic excellence but also good character, urging all students to conduct themselves responsibly both online and offline.

Students have therefore been warned to desist from any form of cyberbullying, harassment, or misuse of anonymous messaging platforms, as such actions are contrary to the University's standards and expectations.
