NUC Approves 18 Undergraduate Programmes for Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of 18 full-time undergraduate programmes at the Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe (FUHST), Zamfara State, with effect from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The approval was conveyed in a letter dated July 9, 2026, signed by the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Prof. Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, following a successful resource verification exercise conducted by a panel of experts to assess the university's human and material resources.

The approved programmes are:
1. MBBS Medicine and Surgery
2. BDS Dentistry
3. B.Sc. Complementary and Alternative Medicine
4. B.EHS Environmental Health Sciences
5. B.Sc. Medicinal Chemistry
6. B.HIM Health Information Management
7. BMLS Medical Laboratory Science
8. B.NSc Nursing Science
9. B.Sc. Human Nutrition and Dietetics
10. B.OT Occupational Therapy
11. DPT Physiotherapy
12. B.Rad Radiography
13. D.Pharm Pharmacy
14. B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence
15. B.Sc. Biotechnology
16. B.Sc. Computer Science
17. B.Sc. Data Science
18. B.Sc. Software Engineering

The Commission noted that the approval applies only to the full-time mode of delivery. It added that any proposal to commence part-time or postgraduate programmes must first receive further approval from the NUC before implementation.
