ABU Introduces Online Remedial Programme, Announces Registration Date

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced the introduction of an Online Remedial Programme through its School of Basic and Remedial Studies (SBRS), Funtua, as part of efforts to expand access to quality pre-degree education.

According to a Special Bulletin issued by the institution on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, prospective candidates will now have the option of enrolling in either the conventional on-campus mode of study or the newly introduced online mode, which allows students to participate in lectures remotely from their homes.

The University disclosed that lectures under the programme will be delivered entirely online through the School's Learning Management System (LMS). However, practical sessions and examinations will be conducted physically at designated centres based on the geographical distribution of registered candidates.

The programme is expected to run for a period of nine months.

ABU further stated that candidates who successfully complete the remedial programme and meet the prescribed minimum admission requirements will be eligible for admission into various degree programmes offered by the University.

The institution revealed that the Online Remedial Programme will commence in the 2026/2027 Academic Session, while the sale of admission forms is scheduled to begin in July 2026.

The Management of SBRS, Funtua, encouraged suitably qualified candidates to take advantage of the flexible learning opportunity provided by the newly introduced programme.
