JAMB Set to Establish UTME Centre in Canada, Announces Expected Date
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is working towards establishing a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) centre in Ottawa, Canada, with operations expected to commence in 2027.
The proposed centre is expected to provide eligible Nigerians living in Canada and other parts of North America with easier access to the UTME, potentially eliminating the need to travel to Nigeria solely to sit for the examination.
The initiative is also aimed at improving access to Nigerian tertiary education for Nigerians living in the diaspora and strengthening their connection with the country’s education system.
If implemented as planned, the development could provide more access and fewer barriers for eligible Nigerian candidates in Canada and surrounding regions.
